日本の national emblem は?と聞かれて、一生懸命日の丸のことを説明してました。私。
日の丸は the rising‐sun flag です。

rising‐sun! red circle! って繰り返してたら、なんとなく理解してくれたみた^^;
でも、national emblem ではなかったですね。。。

national emblem と coat of arms を調べておくこと!
といわれて、今日のレッスンエンドでした。

DME KIDS は BOOK6 までなので、なんと折り返し地点です!

まだBOOK4のテキストが手元にないので、復習兼ねたディクテーションは後ほどやろうと思います。

最近は、必ず予習をしてからレッスンを受けていたので、予習なしで内容も知らずにレッスンというのは久しぶりで、ドキドキものでした。知らない単語もあったけど、すぐにピン!ときたし、MUST と have to の構文は理解しているものだったのと、C先生が優しいので、あまり汗かかずに済んだかもf^_^;)

ただ、複数形の時に、have と has のどっちを使うんだったか混乱しちゃって。

plane とplanes どっちをどっちで使うのかわかる?と質問が飛んできて、英語で説明するのに四苦八苦でした。

plane は三人称単数だから has.
planes は複数だから have.

WHY?
と聞かれて、plural と singular が出てこなくて即答できず…BOOK1ででてきたよねー?と言われ、うーんうーんと悩み、かなーり考えてやっとでてきました。

やり直しも完璧(?) しつこいくらい(笑) だし。

てことで、

BOOK3 最後の Lesson68 だったのですが、目論みはずれて、残り3センテンスのところでタイムアウト。
2分ほど延長してレッスンしてくれたのだけど、終わらなかったorz
今日でBOOK3終わりだーっと思っていたのにぃ。
ぐやじいです・・・けど、自分のせいなので、仕方ないですね。
次に持ち越し。

E先生で、BOOK3 END!!! にして、サンキューーーーーー!!!ってしたかったのだけどなぁ。残念。

注文が遅くなったので、まだ手元にBOOK4がないから、同じところをもう一回やってもらうかな~。

REVIEWで2コマだと、DictationやEXERCISEが挟まれないので、英語話したーって感じです。

今日のレッスンで、初めにやった時に勘違いしていたことが発覚!

in fashion = trend

Do you only buy clothes that are in fashion?

私は、洋服以外買わないの?という質問だと勘違いしていたのでした。

in fashion = trend だということを教えてもらい

流行の服しか買わないのか?という意味だったんですね。

知らない単語は、意味を調べて予習するようにしていたのですが、単語だけで調べるとダメですね。前置詞と組み合わさることで別の意味になることがあるわけですから。fashion なら知ってるからと、調べることをせず、なんとなく文章を読んじゃっていました。

で、Next part といわれて、少し焦ったけど、ちゃんと頭に残っていて、スムーズに答えられた!

Lesson61 の question で、あなたのお気に入りの歌手は誰?という質問がありまして。

Do you have your favourite pop star?
Who's your favourite pop star?


Jin akanishi is my favourite pop star!!!

と答えたんですね。
確か、Lesson61を C先生とレッスンするのは、REVIEWで初だったはず。
先生は仁を知らなかったらしく、ちょっと歌ってみてー、ぜひぜひ!と言われまして ^^;
彼のUSデビューソングは Test drive だよって教えてあげて
Give me a test drive~ ♪♪♪ のフレーズだけ歌いました。
ちょー恥ずかしかったんですけど、先生うけてくれたので、まぁ、よかったかしら ^^
あとでPVチェックしてみるわーと言ってくれましたよ。

レッスンからはずれましたけど、好きな仁のことで話がはずんだので嬉しかったです
たまにはこういうのもいいですね~。

1時間空けて引き続き25分レッスン。
1日でトータル4コマは初です!
続けてやると、コール前のドキドキが少し減るかも。
いまでも、コール前はキャンセルしたくなるほど、ドキドキするのです^^;

なんといっても、苦手なのはsmalltalkです。
日本語でも世間話が苦手なので、単語が出てこない、聞き取れない状況でのsmalltalkは怖いんですよね。
でも、最初のころよりは、多少、ホントに多少ですが、落ち着いて会話できるようにはなっているのかも。

で、ひとつ前のM先生に引き続き、toiec の話をしました。
どのくらいスコアアップするかしら?と聞かれ、
10点くらいかなと返答。
そしたら、
「60点よ!今日これからLesson60をやるから~ 頑張って! You can do it!!!」
と励まされました^^

たぶん、それは無理だと思うけど^^;
I can do it! 頑張ります!

というような会話をしとりました^^;

でも、続けてレッスンすると、頭が英語脳になりますね。
頭ぱんぱんで爆発しそうではありますけど。

DMEは50分レッスンを毎日と推奨している理由もわかる気がします。

実際は、なかなか難しいですけどね。

M先生とは、少しお久しぶりです。
夜のレッスンはたまにしか取れないので、なかなか会えないのですよねー。

Long time no see ^^ って言ってました。
お久しぶりね~という意味ですよね。

帰りの電車で、DMEの音源を聞きながら、声に出さずにぶつぶつしてました。
↑ハタからみたら怪しい人かしら ^^;

20分くらいしか聞けなかったのだけど、その効果があったのかしら!
今日のレッスンは、いつになくスムーズにいけたんですよね!

・・・と思ったけど、関係代名詞を含むセンテンスが少なかったからかも。

でも、スムーズにいくと、すごく気分がいいですね!

苦手なセンテンスは何度も音読して、自分のものにするべく頑張ります!

といわれちゃいました^^;

でも、自分でも答えながら、あーっと思ったんですよ。

関係代名詞が入る文章って、まだまだ苦手です。
思わず、Yes って答えちゃうし、関係代名詞が抜けてしまいます。

今日のセンテンス。
この文章以外は、単純な過去形の疑問文で、概ねスムーズだったんですけどね。
最後のこの2つの質問で、大笑いされちゃいました。

初回の時より、話すスピードがゆっくりだった気がします。

単語、文法の説明があったので、REVIEWと通常レッスンは同じのようです。
なので、Dictation パートはスキップしてくださいとお願いしました。

DME は、基本的に質問に対してフルセンテンスで回答しないといけないのですが・・・
今回のパートでは、省略しちゃったり、語順(?)を逆にしちゃいまして・・・
「そのANSWERでもOKよ、でも、質問はこうだったから、答えは○○よ~」と優しく訂正してくれる先生。
意味が通じても、質問を記憶出来ていない、ってことなんだよね・・・。

ふぅ・・・。
復習ですね。

昨日は iTalk オフィスの裏で火災発生とかで、朝のレッスンがキャンセルになりました。
火災!?と思ったけど、先生たちに被害はなかったようで、よかったです。
予約してたのが人気先生だったのは痛かったけど^^;

ということで、今朝は頑張って、朝から2コマ取ってみました!
平日の朝2コマは初だったけど、いつもより早く支度をしないとならないし、眠くて頭は回ってないし、口も動かないし、大変でした。

早起き苦手な私にとって、朝は1分でも貴重。30分ともなると、大ごとなのですf^_^;) DME を初めて4ヶ月ちょっと。自分でも、よく続いてるなぁと思います。

2コマという事もあって、少しゆっくりスモールトーク。
週末の予定を聞かれて、TOEIC受験の事を報告!
初めてなの?何回目?と聞かれて、答えたものを訂正してもらいました。

いよいよBOOK3 の REVIEW に入りました~\(^o^)/
REVIEW期間は、いつものDictationのかわりに、音読音読音読です。

E先生のREVIEWは、スピードが早いので、まさにトレーニングという感じです。
今日は、全部2回ずつやったので、かなり頭に入った気がします。
(1パラグラフやったら、もう一度同じパラグラフをやりました)
少し詰まった箇所もあったけど、文章全体が取れないことはなくて、おおむねスムーズに進みました。

そして、びっくりすることに、BOOK3の後半に比べると、すこーしだけ、文章が易しく感じました。
BOOK2 の後半から、センテンスは長くなるし、知らない単語も多いしで、BOOK3なんて、届いて開いた瞬間に眩暈がしていたっていうのにね。

といいつつ、BOOK3のREVIEWが終わるのもだいぶ先になるんでしょうけど。
こうして、多少でも、自分の成長を感じられると嬉しいですね。
DME KIDS 効果あるのかな~?

そうそう、わたし、いま少し風邪気味なのですが、

いえ、、、次回からBOOK3 ALL REVIEW が始まるのですが、ひとまず BOOK3 終了です。
テキストが届いた時は、あまりの英語英語英語の量にめまいがしたものですが、なんとか進めてこれました。
10月中に完了させるべく、REVIEW も頑張ります!

単語の意味を調べても、さっぱり意味不明で、ぐぐってみたら、そういう風習があるってわかって納得!でした。
女の子を花に例えて、春が来たら、女の子が枯れないように、水をやらないといけないという事で、男の子は女の子に水を浴びせる、
という習慣なんだそうです。不思議な習慣ですねー。
